Latvian startup Amooz are now offering a host of new gamification techniques which empower their clients to offer heightened interaction and loyalty rewards to their customers. Working with a selection of restaurants, bars and cafés, Amooz allows users to check in when they visit a venue with a quick scan of a QR code on their mobile. They then receive credit rewards that can be redeemed either immediately or saved up for a bigger incentive. SAP has been talking gamification at the recent Enterprise 2.0 conference in Santa Clara – they aim to change the way that users engage with their software. The term gamification, defined as “the integration of game mechanics and game-thinking in non-game environments to boost engagement, loyalty and fun”, has been creeping into marketing speak a great deal this year.
