Service Design Intern

We’re on the lookout for a Service Design intern available from mid-June for a 3-6-months paid internship. You should have a passion for design and research, and love getting into the nitty-gritty details of services and digital products.

You’ll be working with some really exciting clients across a wide range of sectors, supporting the team and helping to create deliverables for both service design and research projects. The successful candidate will be an outgoing dynamic individual with a background in Digital Design, Service Design, Communication Design, or other related fields. This is a varied role within a small team and will suit an enthusiastic person with attention to detail.

Your responsibilities

As a Service Design Intern, you will support our team on client-facing and internal projects. You will learn by doing, with guidance from experienced practitioners, who will help you understand and deliver the service design activities assigned to you, in the context of interdisciplinary projects.


This can include any of the following:

  • Produce visual Service Design and research outputs (e.g. journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps, insights reports)
  • Create online boards using Miro / MURAL
  • Produce analogue workshop materials and assets
  • Support in a range of design workshops with clients, as well as internal workshops
  • Create content for Social Media
  • UI and UX Design (including wireframes)
  • Write screeners for participant recruitment
  • Create discussion guides and other research assets
  • Support research and user testing sessions (e.g. note taking, run tech setups with participants)
  • Help bring insights to life through visual storytelling and actionable recommendations


The right candidate will cover some or all of the following skills and qualities:

  • Practical and theoretical background in service design through your studies and/or professional experience
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Sketch
  • Knowledge of online tools like Miro, MURAL, Trello, WordPress or eagerness to learn
  • Visual design skills and a good sense of aesthetics
  • Interest in learning more about the application of research and design in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Willingness to quickly learn and grow your skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly both in written language and speech
  • Knowledge of Instagram and LinkedIn
