Management Accountant / Finance Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a boutique design and research agency based in the City of London (currently working remotely). You will take a leading role in Financial Management, ensuring financial controls and reporting are maintained to meet future demands. You will report into the CEO and work closely with the Client Service Directors and Project Manager. You will be part of the Senior Management team and drive the operations of the agency. You will be comfortable working across Finance and office and facility management, working in a collaborative environment.
Your responsibilities fall into two main areas:

  

Primary responsibilities

  • Monthly Management Accounts
  • Journals / Accruals
  • P&L and Balance sheet
  • Budget Variance tracking
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Ensuring accurate month-end close
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • HMRC Submissions VAT/EC Sales, CT using Xero
  • Payroll 15 staff
  • Tax management including P11d
  • Petty cash
  • Bank reconciliations (GBP/USD) using Bibby Invoice Financing facility
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Maintenance of the revenue and billing schedules with accrued and deferred income calculations
  • Management of Invoice Financing facility
  • Expense claims
  • Credit Control
  • Weekly debtor report

  

Secondary responsibilities

  • Financial reporting
  • Profitability by service type/client
  • Quarterly meetings
  • Preparation of annual financial statements – working with outsourced accounting firm (Cloud co)
  • Annual Factoring Audit
  • HR responsibilities
  • Administration of existing staff HR accounts using Citrus HR
  • Management of induction for new members of staff and onboarding
  • Various ad hoc office management and administration duties

  

Your skills and capabilities include

  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and self-managing, with good time management skills
  • Support strategic decision making by owning the Finance function
  • Finalist or Qualified with CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Proven experience producing full management accounts using Xero
  • Good working knowledge of Google Docs
