Graphic/Visual Designer

This is an exciting role working closely with our UX consultants across a range of sectors where you’ll be involved with anything from service design strategies to designing games console experiences, to cross platform web re-designs and apps. You will be responsible for understanding and translating customer needs into exciting creative visual design, strategy documentation and interface design concepts. The successful candidate will be an outgoing dynamic individual with a minimum of 2-3 Years’ experience. This is a varied role within a small team and will suit an enthusiastic, hardworking person with keen attention to detail.

Your portfolio must show a strong digital slant and you’ll have case studies of successful projects demonstrating strategic, conceptual and creative thinking. You’ll have experience of UX and UI deliverables including personas and journey maps alongside more UI related assets for digital projects. An impeccable designer, you can communicate visually in a range of styles and mediums, and will be comfortable owning your own deliverables and presenting back to senior stakeholders.

This role would suit an ambitious Graphic Designer looking to explore their creativity and communication skills through infographics and printed materials, whilst having the opportunity to develop their digital design skills.

Your responsibilities:

Working closely with the UX consultants and senior stakeholders you will lead in the production of stunning visual design across web, mobile, tablet and apps as well as research and strategy documentation. This can include any of the following:

  • Producing creative, inspiring visual design for elegant and functional web site layouts, integration of video, user interfaces and assorted digital collateral across a full spectrum of projects and products, (websites, mobile sites, apps. landing pages, banners, blogs, HTML emails, etc.); using iconography, typography, layout and colours to enhance the experience with a product or service.
  • Working directly with stakeholders helping them visually translate project goals and objectives into attractive, user friendly functional solutions.
  • Working with UX consultants to produce inspiring, easy to follow insight and strategy documents such as personas, touchpoint maps, user journey maps, storyboards and other related infographics.
  • Advocating brand design and style consistency across a variety of projects.
  • Creating clear and cohesive style guides to be used by stakeholders.
  • Creating slick UI designs with the user in mind, with the ability to question UX Consultants on their decisions to ensure the end product is designed as intended for the user.
  • Proactively seeking feedback from stakeholders, keeping a record of key iterations of the design.
  • Keep up to date with web standards and trends, browser compatibility and compliance as well as best practices for email marketing, mobile and responsive design.
  • Inspiring co-workers and collaborating with them to produce inventive, thoughtful and relevant work, keeping up to date on the latest design and tool set trends.
  • Playing a strong role in developing the Spotless brand’s look and feel.
  • Developing and maintaining a professional approach to file keeping and sharing with clients.
    Good time management skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design or similar discipline, or relevant experience.
  • 2-3 Years’ experience working in a variety of sectors with a digital focus.
  • An amazing portfolio demonstrating your experience of visual design trends covering vector based graphics, photo based designs and hand sketches).
  • Advanced use of the full Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Previous experience working within a corporate or consulting environment would be beneficial.
  • Animation software skills using Flash, Edge or After Effects are a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about all aspects of user experience and visual design.
  • Highly motivated and self-managing.
  • You must have the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  • Actively involved in social networks such as Twitter/LinkedIn.
