Key Responsibilities
- You’ll play a key role in delivering projects for our clients, who are based in the UK and internationally.
- Applying your practitioner skills on exciting challenges across industries, either leading the project or working in a supporting role.
- Creating proposals and being part of a bid team.
- Working in multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute research across all stages of the design process.
- Working directly with stakeholders, involving them openly in your processes, helping them distil project goals and objectives into project requirements.
- Championing a user-centred and insights-based approach to product strategy and development.
- Produce high-quality deliverables and confidently playback insights and findings, making it easy for clients to connect the dots with clear communication and actionable product and design recommendations.
- Inspiring co-workers and sharing knowledge and skills with the rest of the team on best practice, recognising potential in the latest technology, and other trends.
- Partner with other agencies, recruiters and consultants to direct their efforts and ensure quality results from their work.
- Help orchestrate initiatives to craft new and evolve existing methods and processes by staying up-to-date on innovations in the industry and academia.
- Contributing to internal projects, writing articles and blog posts on hot topics or areas of interest, relevant to the design of products and services.
Requirements
- 4 years+ of industry Research experience, with a proven experience leading research projects from inception to completion.
- Experience and passion for gaming:some text
- A good grounding in multiple types of video games (e.g. Live Service, Mobile, VR etc.)
- An interest in gaming trends and news.
- Understanding the different stages of game design development and tailoring research approaches to meet the specific needs of each phase.
- Direct experience working as a researcher in the games industry is desirable, but not essential.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Behavioural Science, Service Design, or related fields, or relevant professional experience.
- A good commercial understanding, with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, delivering in a fast-paced agency or business environment.
- Demonstrable experience working in a variety of sectors with a digital focus, with a strong interest and/or experience in games research being important.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, across shorter tactical work, as well as more strategic design projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in championing human-centred design, design thinking, and innovation.
- Robust understanding experience in a wide range of research methods, including both quantitative and qualitative approaches. An understanding of how best to utilise different methods (individually as well as in tandem) to address the research objectives.
- High standard of report writing, with ability to convey information concisely and effectively, making it easier for clients to connect the dots with clear communication and actionable recommendations.
- Highly motivated and self-managing, with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise delivery according to budget and deadlines.

Senior Design Researcher to join Spotless on a perm basis, to work with some big brands across a range of sectors, including games research. As such, a passion and/ or experience in games research is important.
You will have a minimum of 4 years experience working in Design Research, ideally within an agency environment. The role requires the ability to understand client challenges, question briefs, and suggest innovative methodologies to address project objectives, with the confidence to report back to stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
This is a varied role within a small team and will suit an enthusiastic, hardworking person with keen attention to detail.

£40,001 - £55,000 per year depending on experience
